What is a Datafeed file?

Data feed is an electronic file containing products information, price, and images (if available). Data feeds allow you to upload or download multiple items at a time.

What data should be contained inside my datafeed file?

Please provide us as much information as possible. Most of the time suppliers do not provide enough information which makes it difficult for us to use the datafeed properly. Here are a list of fields which are ordered by priority from top to bottom.

  1. Brand Name (Manufacture name)
  2. Model/Series Number (Manufacturer Part Number)
  3. Product Name (less than 300 characters)
  4. Brief Description (less than 300 characters)
  5. Product Details (less than 1500 characters)
  6. UPC / EAN / GTIN
  7. SKU/ Item Number (your own store SKU or Item Number)
  8. Category Name (tree / category name)
  9. Product Image URL (http link to the image file of the product)
  10. Wholesale Price (Flexhair price)
  11. Shipping Cost
  12. Suggest Retail Price
  13. Warranty Information
  14. Usage Tips
  15. Ingredients
  16. Directions
  17. Colors (optional)

How to upload or download datafeed?

Allow us to download your datafeed is by putting the file on your server or your hosting company's server. Depending on your server's capability you can allow FTP and/or HTTP download. FTP (file transfer protocol) is preferred due to its error control and resume download capability).

What often should I update my datafeed file?

Please updates at least once or twice per week or if your product information, price and availability changes.

How to create your data feed.

We support data feeds in two general formats, text format (.txt) and simple flat file format (.csv) While we don't currently accept data feeds in the Microsoft Excel format, you can convert your Excel file to the text format before you upload it. See below for more information.

How do I convert my spreadsheet into a tab-delimited text file?

Most spreadsheet programs allow you to export data into a tab-delimited file with a name ending in the ".txt" or ".csv" extension. This is the file we can be used for Flexhair.
